Hi! My name is Laura Thomas.

I am very privileged that my active lifestyle began at 3-years-old as a pre-ballerina. I continued various forms of dance throughout my childhood and then switched to cardio and weights in my teen years. I did learn the hard way in my early 20’s when I started working a desk job, eating out and not exercising regularly:

“I lost a great job and my aunt to cancer both in late 2006; my body was so stressed out and I did not feel like myself. It was a tough time in my life and I knew I had to take the reins myself and transform my health.”

I realized I had to make a change and joined a women’s only gym where I returned to cardio and weightlifting. I started cooking more nutritious food and have continued experimenting with different exercise programs. With my ballet background, I am big on form and function when exercising and making sure clients are safe from injury or pro-longed pain. I have personally dealt with feet and knee injuries and also suffered from migraines for 2 years.

As an adult, my passion for fitness stems from the many friends and relatives I have lost to diseases and people in my life who struggle with daily setbacks from their condition, whether chronic or unattended. I took 72 hours of class time and became an ACE certified trainer in December of 2016 after my desire to obtain the certification for a few years finally came to fruition.

In June 2018, I completed the extensive Certified Pre- and Postnatal Coaching from Girls Gone Strong’s Coaching and Training Women Academy, which I renewed again in 2020. In June of 2022, I renewed this certification with their latest curriculum. In addition, I completed a trauma-informed space holding training in 2020 as I felt called to learn how to hold a safe and supportive environment for my clients regardless of race, sexual orientation, body-type, gender or any lived experience my clients may have. I understand I hold privilege as a white, heterosexual & cis-gender woman and that it is critical to be empathetic and understanding without implicit bias or bypassing trauma to those who are not in my same position nor have had the opportunities that have been extended to me. I continue to study and actively participate in anti-racism work both in the fitness industry and personally. In addition, I am anti-diet culture and do not believe in cleanses, detoxes or anything of the sort. Please feel free to ask me about this work.

In March of 2021, I became a 200 hr. certified yoga teacher. In 2023, I became a certified GGS-1 Coach to further my knowledge of working with women during other life transitions outside of pregnancy and postpartum.

In 2024, I will become a Schatz Method practitioner and have already began implementing this alignment work with current clients.

I primarily support:

+Expecting and new mothers/parents who want to achieve strength and form sound nutrition habits while going through an exciting new time in their lives.

+Encourage power professional women and non-binary folks to take time for themselves to strength train and become knowledgable about their bodies while working full-time.
